Assistant Bar Manager

The Loco Klub is a venue that has risen from the ashes of the old GWR railway social club that formerly stood on the site.

As well as boasting a series of fabulous performance spaces in the former social club bar rooms, it holds a hidden treasure; a grand hall of vaulted arches designed to support the original railway station, designed and built by Isambard Kingdom Brunel. Without a doubt, the architecture of the vaults is inspiring and offers a unique jaw dropping performance space unlike any other in the city.

The Loco Klub is going through an exciting period of growth and we are now looking for a reliable and experienced Assistant Bar Manager to complete our team.

Main responsibilities

• Supporting the Bar Manager

• Bar set up and clean down

• Stock check and ordering

• Handling deliveries

• Keeping up to date with licensing

• Enforcing health and safety

• Cellar maintenance & line cleaning

• Sound knowledge of spirits, wines and ales

• Till maintenance including cashing up and float orders

• Recruiting, training and motivating staff

• Staff organisation and rotas

• Assisting the Venue Manager with setting up for events and ad hoc task.

• Attending weekly management meetings

Person Specification

• At least two years previous Bar Management experience.

• Experienced cashing up over

• Reliable and punctual

• Able to work efficiently on your own and be a good team player.

• Personal License Holder

• Organised

• Friendly

This is initially a freelance position. Hours are flexible and vary week to week (between 15-25) mostly weekends and evenings.

This role is ideally for an April/May start possibly earlier.

Salary £9.50 p/h.
